Tai Sabaki Jutsu – Learn Effective Self Defence

Tai Sabaki Jutsu is a form of self-defence that is built upon the cornerstones of good footwork and body movement. You learn how to evade and control an attacker and this allows you to defend yourself on your terms.

Tai Sabaki purposefully combines an array of simple skills to execute highly effective self defence. Since non-violent responses and physical techniques are taught, there are a variety of options and can all be administered with great effect and confidence.

Learn how to move quickly and safely to an attacker’s blind side. As a result you can take the attacker’s balance and structure. This places you in prime position to control the outcome of an attack, irrespective of the physical size or strength of the attacker. This is especially relevant to smaller defenders.

Student progress is rapid as there is a focus on skills that are simple to execute.

Students have fun in class and there is a strong focus on progressive skill development and body conditioning.

Classes are at FunFit at 7:45pm on Wednesdays.

Fitness Classes

On Ramp / Foundation

Get Started with our Personal Training On Ramp

All adult clients begin with our on ramp. This is a series of 5 personal training sessions. You will work with your trainer to build general fitness and gain familiarity and confidence with our movements. You will find the greatest success with personal training if your needs or goals include:

  •  you are new to exercise
  • you have generally been sedentary
  • extra accountability
  • weight loss and improved body composition
  • you are referred to us by a physician, physiotherapist or chiropractor
  • you have specific performance oriented goals (triathlon, basketball, etc.)
  • you have significant health or orthopaedic issue

Your trainer will tailor workouts specifically for your current fitness level and progress you at the proper pace for you. Following your initial 5 sessions you may then choose to continue with 1-on-1 Personal Training or join Small Group Sessions.*Individuals with significant health or orthopaedic issues will remain private training clients.

Personal Training

If you are short on time, feel uncomfortable working out in front of others or just prefer one-on-one encouragement then Personal Training is for you.

EVERYONE has something to work on, and with the help of an experienced and qualified Personal Trainer you can identify, target and remedy areas you’d like to improve. Become “BETTER THAN YESTERDAY” and with your trainer build a better you.
Extensive record keeping on the part of your trainer means you will always know how you are performing (and improving) compared to YOU!
